In this Book, "Displaying the Marvelous: Marcel Duchamp, Salvador Dali, and Surrealist Exhibition Installations" an exhibition called "Art of This Century" used spotlights to display pieces in the gallery, which was otherwise in near complete darkness. Kieslers art was shown using lights programmed to randomly turn on and off, and with distracting noises played in the background imitating a subway train.
Other pieces in the "Kinetic Gallery" in the Art of This Century exhibition used viewing devices, such as viewing slits that opened with levers and wooden wheels, that when turned revealed peep holes to view Duchamps art work, giving the observer a very defined view of the art work.
