Noistromo worked for a photo retouching company, then a game developer doing 3D concept art, then at an advertising agency for a publishing house, before launching his own free lance career.

This is a digital Portrait by Noistromo, featuring a woman with the upper half of her head turning into within purple tentacles before disappearing off the top of the canvas.
The texture across the skin and tentacles helps to bring artificial detail to surfaces, which have a relatively ambiguous shape. The background is the lightest part of the image, combined with the very brightest of the highlights in the middle of the head, helping to bring the image together. The Background has a yellow tinge, complimenting the deep purples in the tentacles and skin, which helps contribute to the more feminine appearance. The most striking part of the image however are the bright red lips, which firmly cement the idea that this is a human female into the imagination, making the rest of the image more disturbing as a result.
A common theme among a lot of dark surreal work is the underpinning of sexuality throughout the artwork, contrasting with the other themes of death and mutilation common in surrealist themes.
This would be a relatively easy piece to recreate in ZBrush, using only one sub tool, and overlaying textures in photoshop to give it a more painterly look.
